엘보우(Elbow)의 첫 베스트 앨범 ‘The Best Of’ 발매

엘보우의 첫 베스트 앨범 [The Best of Elbow]가 발매되었습니다. 2012년에 나온 비사이드 컬렉션 [Dead in the Boot] 이후 두 번째 컴필레이션 앨범이네요. 지금까지 발표한 일곱 장의 정규 앨범에서 고르게 선곡한 ‘베스트 앨범의 정석’이라 할 수 있습니다. 이미 엘보우 앨범을 모두 가진 팬이라면 1장에 축약한 스탠더드 에디션으로도 충분하겠지만, 엘보우 앨범이 없거나 몇 장 들어보지 않은 분이라면 디럭스 에디션을 추천합니다. 선곡이 정말 훌륭하네요. 

28곡이 수록된 디럭스 에디션은 영국에서 트리플 플래티넘을 기록한 [The Seldom Seen Kid]에서 가장 많은 7곡이 선곡되었고, 보너스 트랙으로 실린 비틀즈 커버곡 ‘Golden Slumbers’는 [The Best Of]를 위한 선물입니다. 가이 갈베이는 이 베스트 앨범이 우리를 소개할 수 있는 훌륭한 방법이라고 이야기했습니다. 베스트 앨범으로 입문했다는 레너드 코헨, 플릿우드 맥, 닉 드레이크 이야기도 곁들이면서 말이죠.
