「Forever Man」은 1982년부터 현재까지 에릭 클랩튼이 발표한 대표곡을 수록한 베스트 앨범이다. 스튜디오 트랙으로 구성된 CD1에는 미국에서 좋은 반응을 얻은 <I've Got A Rock 'n' Roll Heart>, 사랑하는 아들의 갑작스러운 죽음을 애도하며 만든 <Tears In Heaven>, 베이비페이스(Babyface)가 프로듀싱과 백킹 보컬을 맡은 대중적인 곡으로 그래미 3개 부문을 수상한 <Change The World>, 음악적 깊이와 참신함이 동시에 빛난 곡으로 도입부 솔로와 코러스가 기억에 남는 <My Father's Eyes> 등의 히트곡이 실렸다. 또한, 그래미를 수상한 <Bad Love>, 비비 킹과 함께한 <Ride With The King>, 샤카 칸이 피처링한 <Gotta Get Over>도 만날 수 있다. 앨범의 타이틀이기도 한 <Forever Man>는 1980년대에 전성기를 누린 밴드 토토(Toto) 멤버들이 참여한 화려한 곡이다.

 

 

  라이브 트랙으로 구성된 CD2는 크림 시절의 히트곡 <Sunshine Of Your Love>, <White Room>, 1970년대 대표곡 <Cocaine>, <Wonderful Tonight> 등을 「24 Nights」 버전으로 수록했으며 「Unplugged」에서도 여러 곡을 선곡했다. 스티브 윈우드가 함께한 2009년 매디슨 스퀘어 가든 공연도 빼놓을 수 없다. 블루스 트랙으로 구성된 CD3는 2000년대 앨범을 들어보지 못한 이들에게 더없이 좋은 선택이 될 것이다. 선곡 범위와 구성은 「Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton」(1999)보다 더 뛰어나고 풍성한 베스트 앨범이다.
