토리 에이모스의 ‘Little Earthquakes’, ‘Under The Pink’ 딜럭스 에디션 발매

토리 에이모스(Tori Amos)의 1집 [Little Earthquakes]와 2집 [Under The Pink]의 딜럭스 에디션이 4월 21일에 발매되었습니다. 두 앨범 모두 미국에서 더블 플래티넘을 기록했죠. 공교롭게도 저는 3집 [Boys For Pele]부터 2014년에 나온 [Unrepentant Geraldines]까지를 CD로 가지고 있어서 (중간에 빠진 앨범도 있음) 아주 강한 입질이 오고 있습니다. 1~2집에는 베스트 앨범을 통해 들을 수 있는 히트곡이 많아서 오히려 등한시하지 않았나 싶습니다.

특이하다고 할 만한 것은 없지만, 비사이드 트랙을 알차게 모은 Disc 2가 눈길이 갑니다. 하지만 [Crucify] EP에 수록된 롤링 스톤즈 커버곡 ‘Angie’와 레드 제플린 커버곡 ‘Thank You’가 빠져서 아쉽군요.

역시 Disc 2에서 다수의 비사이드 트랙을 만날 수 있습니다. 영국에서 한정 발매된 'Cornflake Girl' 싱글에 수록된 조니 미첼 커버곡 'A Case of You',  (Joni Mitchell), 지미 헨드릭스 커버곡 'If 6 Was 9', 빌리 할리데이 커버곡 'Strange Fruit'는 빠졌습니다. [More Pink: The B-Sides]의 모든 곡을 수록했다면 더 좋았을 텐데 말이죠. 그래도 손녀딸을 안고 팔짝팔짝 뛸 만큼 반가운 재발매군요. ‘Hey Jupiter’가 있는 [Boys for Pele]도 멋지게 재발매했으면 좋겠습니다.
