올해는 피제이 하비(P.J. Harvey)가 압도적입니다. 롤링 스톤(Rolling Stone)을 제외한 5개 매체에서 1, 2위를 차지했습니다. MOJO, NME, UNCUT이 이 앨범을 1위로 선정했고, Q와 Spin에서도 2위를 기록했습니다. 보통은 아무리 좋은 앨범이 있어도 매체마다 다른 앨범을 1위로 선택하곤 하는데, 올해는 예외군요. Spin만 유일하게 다른 매체에선 순위권에도 들지 못한 퍽트 업(Fucked Up)을 1위에 올려놓았습니다. 반면 아델(Adele)은 Q와 롤링 스톤의 선택만 받았습니다. 다른 매체에서는 아예 순위권에도 들지 못했습니다. 인기로 따진다면 누구도 아델을 따라올 수 없었는데 말이죠. 본 아이버(Bon Iver), 와일드 비스츠(Wild Beasts), 플릿 폭시즈(Fleet Foxes)도 선전했습니다. 반응이 엇갈렸던 라디오헤드(Radiohead)와 악틱 몽키즈(Arctic Monkeys)도 나쁘지 않았고, 의외로 콜드플레이(Coldplay), 노엘 갤러거(Noel Gallagher), 비디 아이(Beady Eye), 스노우 패트롤(Snow Patrol)이 부진했습니다. Q와 Rolling Stone을 제외한 나머지 매체는 그닥 대중적이지 않은 차트를 만들기 때문인 것 같습니다. 그래미와 브릿 어워드의 선택이 벌써부터 궁금해지네요. Best Of Best는 매체 순위를 참고하여 자체적으로 만든 것이니 참고만 해주셨으면 좋겠습니다.
